Dear Dad,
Father's Day came and went and I did not wish you, though I remembered you and thought of you, as much as I do all 365 days in a year but post Father's Day, I would like to share my feelings for you, in the best possible way I know and I can...in the form of a heartfelt poem dedicated to you...
P S: This poem is not just 'an ode to my dear father' but also to 'the ideal father for my daughter' and the 'ideal father, I am sure my son would soon grow up to be!'
You will remain 'My Daddy Strongest', for every little girl born,
'My Real Hero', that he grows up worshiping, for every young lad.
You will always be the perfect counterpart for mom, that together,
Created for me the 'Protective Umbrella of Parental love', dear dad!
'My Real Hero', that he grows up worshiping, for every young lad.
You will always be the perfect counterpart for mom, that together,
Created for me the 'Protective Umbrella of Parental love', dear dad!
For instilling wisdom and values in me , I am indebted to you so,
'Your precious words and acts', sculpted me into what I am today.
Your, 'foresight and farsightedness' for education, five decades ago,
Cannot match the best of educators I have learnt from, till this day!
You nurtured me from the day I was born and are doing it till today,
You took a keen interest in all my activities, however big or small,
You nursed me in sickness and cared for me in every possible way,
To bring me up well and my siblings, you simply gave it your all!
Your constant, continuous and consistent prayers for your family,
Are the biggest source of inspiration and motivation for all of us,
Your unwavering faith in God and his mercy is unparalleled really,
And that gave us 'the spiritual connect', so essential for all of us!
You have taught us the priceless art of 'living and loving' selflessly,
And can give lessons to the world about 'aging ever so gracefully'.
You have taught us to pursue our goals fearlessly and relentlessly,
Due to which we could achieve, whatever we could, so thankfully!
Words would never suffice for what I wish to, so sincerely convey,
But for all, 'fathers of our future generations', I shall earnestly pray,
That they become a true reflection of you in every possible way,
And make you proud of 'having raised us all in this beautiful way!'
